Climatic conditions for solar PV power plants are favorable in the Baltic States. For example, in 2013 properly installed solar PV power plants exceeded a 1000 kWh/kWp electricity production rate.

An inverter changes electricity it receives from a solar PV power plant to standard (household) electricity; also, it constantly tests what is called the electricity standard in equipment of a grid operator. Just like lightning rods or other metal structures, solar PV power plants do not attract additional lightning. They are protected from lightning in the same way as other metal structures. Use of solar energy for electricity production is environmentally friendly and safe — it does not emit pollutants into the environment and does not create sound.
